Property Tax Calendar

1 JANUARY - Florida property is assessed at its just value on this date. In order to insure individual taxes are at Just Value taxpayers should document January 1st conditions. When preparing Tangible Property Returns, CPS lawyers recommend adding a Tangible Personal Property Disclaimer.
1 MARCH - Exemption application deadline. After being accepted for a Homestead Exemption, renewal is automatic unless there is a change in status. Annual applications must be made for agricultural exemptions.
1 APRIL - Personal Property Return deadline. If TPP Returns are not filed, by statute, TPP taxpayers are not permitted to appeal assessments to the Value Adjustment Board. This also is the deadline for payment of taxes owed for prior calendar year.
1 JULY - Date upon which denials of exemptions or classifications are mailed.
